Accomplished 21 – 27 Sep 2019
1. I worked for about five hours this week on the Blessing sisters’ story for the Fairfax Genealogical Society’s Family History Writing SIG. I’m trying to get the right mix of interesting story while sticking to the facts of what happened to the Blessing family in the early to late 1800s. Deadline is October 10, 2019.
2. Met the third deadline of the 100 Day Book program for my story about half sisters Elizabeth Wellman Winney and Kathryn Lorenz Brucher, and their mother, Mary Heuertz Wellman Lorenz. We’ll post our word count each Friday. My goal is 4200 words per week. This week I wrote 4314.
3. I’m working a little here and there on the stories for my collection of short stories about fate, chance, and coincidences, but visions for them came to me so I had to put them down.
I was hoping to have one ready for workshopping in my critique groups this week, but I realized that I didn’t have enough of an obstacle for my MC to overcome – it was just so nice! I’ve juiced it up a little and changed a minor side character to a protagonist for my MC. Hope to get it in front of critique group late next week or early week after.
Planned for Next Week
1. Work on each of the above writing projects that have deadlines, and fit in my short stories when I have time.
