Writing Journal Entry 33

Weekly post to keep me accountable for what I want to accomplish. Click to see all journal entries.

Accomplished 1 – 7 Feb 2020

After two weeks in a row of focusing 100% of my writing attention on family stories, I got burnt out and started working on a cozy mystery series. After thinking about it, I realized that I was setting unrealistic expectations, so I figured out how to manage two writing projects at one time to keep each story fresh and avoid burn out.

1. After losing all enthusiasm for working on my family stories, I wrote exclusively on my Andie Schubert Mystery Series. It was nice to step away from one writing project and work on another one with fresh eyes. I added about 3,000 words to the 1st book in the series.

2. I didn’t write any personal narratives like I wanted to, again. I may not really care about this, which is why I keep putting it off. I thought it would be good writing practice, but if I don’t care about doing it, it doesn’t make sense to keep it on my to do list.

Planned for Next Week

1. I’ll either work on my cozy mystery series or the Blessing story. Or both!

2. Write one personal narrative post on this site as a writing practice piece. Putting as a placeholder, but won’t get too worked up if I don’t get to this.
